researching and designing spaces and systems
Before transitioning into UX, I spent years designing in the physical world as an Architectural Designer and Sustainability Consultant, crafting spaces, systems, and sustainable solutions. This work shaped how I think—structurally, holistically, and with deep attention to context and craft. Here, you’ll find a selection of projects from that chapter of my career.
Role
Architectural Design, Architectural Research, Mapping, Urban Design, Research & Development, Sustainability Accounting, Materials Specialist
Tools
Revit, Vray, AutoCAD, Rhino, Enscape, Grasshopper, ArcGIS (Esri and QGIS), Runway Machine Learning, Adobe Creative Suite, OneClick LCA

What I Learned
Develop systems thinking by balancing technical constraints, project goals, and human experience across scales.
Strengthen skills in design thinking, visual communication, storytelling, and diagramming to clearly communicate complex ideas.
Design with real-world limitations (context, policies and code) and diverse end users.
What I Would Do Differently
Include post-occupancy evaluation (although atypical to the architectural process) to better understand how people interact with space over time.
Prioritize direct user research rather than relying on the client as a proxy for the end user, ensuring design decisions are grounded in real user needs and behaviors.
Next Steps
Apply lessons from designing physical spaces to create human-centered digital experiences that are both impactful and scalable.
Leverage my transferable skills from designing physical experiences to digital experiences.
Seek out mission-driven teams that value strategic thinking, collaboration, and intuitive, aesthetic solutions.
